Buster Keaton’s Cops (1922) is one of Keaton’s most surreal, anarchic and melancholy films. Johnston’s complete score, begun in 2001 when it was presented at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, NYC in an abbreviated form, and completed during the pandemic, but postponed, was premiered by ACMI in 2022 in Fed Square/Melbourne as part of the Not-So-Silent Film Festival.
